German, Israeli and Italian artists for the very first time at the Festival

In its jubilee twentieth year, the Festival will welcome theatre groups from six European countries and Israel.

For the very first time in history of Bábkarská Bystrica we have the honour to welcome the German ensemble Theater Couturier & Ikkola. Their performance of Duck, Death and Tulip will feature during the First Impulse dedicated to children audience. The Second Impulse will introduce Israeli group Mightbe with their adaptation of Otherwise, an authentic story by Chava Nissimiv.

Other than ensembles from the V4 (Slovakia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland), Germany and Israel, to our delight we will also welcome several productions from Italy. This year the Festival will host artists hailing from three different Italian towns. La Baracca, one of the theatre groups, is a pioneer in theatre production for toddlers. The trio will also be joined by Compagnia L´asina sull´isola, one of the best-known ensembles that combines puppet theatre with shadow theatre. The Second Impulse will feature the magical Italian story of a surrealist painter, performed by the Coppelia theatre and their technically flawless puppets.

Don’t pass on the chance to see some of the best performances that our dramaturgic board hand-picked for you!
